More and more teachers at the high school level in American public schools are sending a new message to students: there is an alternative to a college education, and you can become successful and be financially secure without that sheepskin. Believe it or not, most of the jobs high school graduates are likely to find, with or without a degree from a four year college or university, do not require the possession of a degree.

During the 1960s and 1970s in American public schools, there were plenty of vocational tracks a student could enter that would ensure job opportunities after high school, such as machine shop, auto mechanics, cosmetology, and even radio and television. These vocational tracks were modeled after the needs of the immediate community; if one community had manufacturing facilities, then the vocational tracks were geared toward providing workers who could fill those jobs. If a young woman or man knew that he or she wanted to work in a salon, they would be trained during high school and guided through the state licensure program and be ready to enter the job force upon graduation. They even had internships where the students could spend part of their last two years of high school getting invaluable on the job experience and networking with professionals already established in the field, so that entry into the job market was even easier for them once they graduated.

Sometime during the 1980s and 1990s, this practice began to decline, possibly due to relationships built between local school districts and community colleges. The community colleges needed students, after all, so bumping up vocational training to the two-year college level and taking it out of high schools meant that people would now have to cough up funds to attend those community colleges. Supporting community colleges is important — don’t get me wrong — but at the expense of the local school districts’ ability to provide adequate job training for its students, moving those vocational tracks up to the post-secondary level could be regarded as criminal.

What this country needs is to return to providing training for real world jobs in real world communities. There are still vocational tracks available at high schools around the country, so make sure that you find out about them early, so you can enjoy the benefits of being prepared for a career that does not require a college degree. After all, you probably won’t need one.

In a recent study by Jobvite, 1 in 6 workers reported that their Facebook profiles had helped get them hired. In fact, about 16% of all people who got jobs after college in 2011 used their social networks to land positions — a number representing an 11% increase over last year’s numbers. Nine in ten job hunters say they maintain a social networking profile online, and the most helpful social network for job seekers was not LinkedIn: instead, it was Facebook. 18,400,000 people said that Facebook literally got them their jobs, while LinkedIn accounted for only 10,200,000. To check out the rest of these statistics, have a look below:

If you’ve already earned your Bachelor’s degree, you will probably still need a Master’s degree in the subject you want a doctoral degree in before you will be considered for admission to that level of graduate studies. Still, there are some people who enter a PhD program with only a Bachelor’s degree. It all depends on the program admission policies at the graduate school you have applied to.

Here is an infographic that details some interesting facts about PhDs. Click to expand:

The watches are the essential part of the man’s fashion and it gives the professional personality look to a man.
There are many watch companies and brands are available in the today’s market that provides the best of the best watches. They offers great quality, great comfort and great style watches so obviously when you go in to the market to buy a watch, It can be bit tough for you to choose the one from all the brands. Here we will discus about the things to consider while buying a watch.

# First thing to consider is your lifestyle and the watch that you buy must match with your lifestyle. Few watches suites your office personality and few suites your playing and sporty personality. so that is why it is recommended to have two different watches for your work and office time and for your playing type. You can choose the classic type of watch for office time. And there are great sporty brand available in the market that you can buy and were in your sport time. So you must wear the watch considering the situation. If you are really into fancy watches with a cool modern twist, check out the selection of watches at blumlux.com.

# Next thing to get into the consideration is the size of the watch. This is really a important aspect of the choosing watch. The standard size watches do not suites the man, bigger in size of the body. And it gives a bit awkward look to the personality of a man. You must choose the watch considering your body size. The current watches fashion suggest that the craze of wearing big face watches are increasing. So if you want to stay with the current fashion then you can choose a watch that have bit bigger face then the standard watch.

# Which material, A watch is maid from ? is also important thing. You can buy a watch that have maid from Inox steel (stainless steel). The Inox steel is more durable then the leather. It gives business suit as well as other occasions suit style. So it is a very versatile and also gives great shading look.

# There are many occasion comes in which, A watch can get wet. And those whatches which are not good at water resistance can get fail and you might loose your favorite watch. So it is important to buy a watch that have a feature of water resistance.

So while buying a watch you must check out all the above things. But some times buying a watch can go worse because of budget factor. If you go into the market and you see a watch having a great fancy look, You will definitely like to buy it, But more often that kind of watches will require more money to spend and it can break your budget criteria. But buying a watch is not all about spending big amount of money but as we have discussed above you must go for a watch that suites you the most though its price is reasonable or low. A watch can give a awesome look to a man but it also can give a wrong impression in the personality of a man if not properly bought. So you need to be very focus while buying a watch. And there are many brands and variety of affordable but the best watches available in the market and you will surly find the one that suits you the most.

Currently, there is evidence of a law school bubble; what this means is that there are more law students graduating than there are jobs for law school graduates. It does not take a lot of thought to understand why this is problematic. If you want more information about the bubble and financial news in general, tune into your favorite satellite television news stations from dish2u.com. Here, enjoy the infographic below which outlines the trouble law students may have:

It’s hard to believe summer’s already coming to an end, but here we again facing a new school year. Whether you attend classes on a campus or taking advantage of online education, there are certain things you need to do to get prepared for back to school.

1. Obtain and verify all start dates and course enrollments ahead of time. Don’t wait to find out at the last minute that a course has been cancelled, or that it was too full for you to join this semester.

2. Be sure to read all your syllabuses as soon as you have them. These contain the course outline and requirements so you’ll know what books and materials you’ll need and when you can expect to be tested, as well as the dates when major papers will be due.

3. Go ahead and schmooze with your teachers online. Before class even begins, it’s a good idea to show your interest and make yourself remembered. Online instructors can easily lose track of who is who, particularly in over-full classes. If you want to stand out, get in touch early on, and stay in touch.

4. Get the technology you will need for a successful school year. If it means shelling out some extra moolah for the latest version of Microsoft Office for students, then do that and get it over with. It will save you untold headaches later in the year when you find you’re wasting too much time on the phone with the IT department due to incompatibility issues.

5. Make friends with other students in your class. Sure, it’s an online school and there is something to be said for the anonymity of just dealing with your own work at your own computer screen, not having to worry about group projects and so on…but it’s still important to make friends, even if only online. You can do this by hanging out on the message boards for the courses you are enrolled in and just being friendly, as you would in any “rl” school.

There are some tips to get you ready to go back to school online.

Need to update your connection? Try DirectTV Internet.

If you have ever enrolled in an online course, or maybe even an entire degree program online, then you know how hectic it can be to “work at your own pace,” and “take quizzes and tests at your convenience.” It might sound good, but when you’re really enrolled and trying to stay on top of lengthy reading assignments and reflection paper deadlines, the pressure can start getting to you and you may find you are falling behind.

One reason for this is what most people think will make an online course so appealing at first: it’s the lack of direct human interaction. Because there is no face time in an online course (at least, there wasn’t as of the hour of this article being published,) online course instructors have to created virtual ways for students and teachers to interact with the course objectives, materials, and each other. Most of the time this will involve a Web forum, or set of forums, put into place to give students a sense of the virtual classroom. There, the instructor will post certain weekly topics and will expect a minimal number of posts in response per student, per week. There will also be student initiated posts to which replies are expected from fellow classmates and the instructor. This is a very important part of the online classroom structure, and one that cannot be overlooked.

Another thing that can cause pressure is the “freedom” of taking the online class. People seem to get it in their minds that because the course is taken privately, on a person’s own computer, they have all the time in the world. This is simply untrue. In fact, many people fall further behind with online classes than they would with a traditional styled course at a physical location.

“The most important thing you can do after registering for any online course,” said Teresa Mims, distance education specialist, “is to print out your syllabus, immediately.” Printing the syllabus, she further explained, gives you an overview of where you should be in your “free schedule” at various weeks during the class. It will also show you clearly when quiz and exam deadlines are, and when you are expected to render papers.

So, if you are enrolled in an online course, turn off the satellite tv, and make sure that you post to the forums regularly and complete all deadline assigned tasks by their respective due dates.

Don’t be like that. I bet you’re thinking oh god, why do I need anything for an online class? It’s online so it should be less materials.

Well, you are right. However you still need a few things to succeed at online classes. They aren’t going to just give you credits because you watch the lecture online. There is projects, textbooks, and homework that you need to do and turn in.

The way that online classes work is that the teacher is in another place entirely and the lectures and classwork is presented online. Your classmates could be in another country altogether so it is better to make sure you know all parts of your assignments. The teachers will give you only what your assignments are online they will tell you to refer to the textbooks for any in depth information. The best way to stay ahead is to write down all assignments even if they are listed on the student interface as it will help you keep track and let you stay ahead of the game even if the virtual classroom goes down. Trust me. It is better to go ahead and do the work then your internet go down and the teacher give you a zero. Fs are not a grade any student wants to get so do things right and you will do great in your online classes.

The biggest factor that you must have for your online classes to be successful is a drive to get the work done. Online classes are not a medium that you can afford to put anything off even by a day. You don’t have a teacher reminding you constantly so it is understandable that you may not feel you should do your work immediately but the teacher is going to give you more work the next day. Go ahead and get it done now so that you are ready to handle anything else is thrown your way.

Also, be sure you have reliable internet access. Check with your satellite dish provider for satellite internet if you live out in the country and can’t get DSL.

If you are trying to go for any non technical job then you are more than welcome to get that degree online in the comfort of your home. Technical classes are not available online however certain prerequisites are. You can finish every class that does not require a hands on lab or clinical before you ever have to leave your house. Due to this Online Education is becoming one of the world’s fastest growing education methods.

The areas that you can find degrees in online are:

Certificate: Widely available and easily obtainable to help you go further in your career.

Associate’s: 2 year degrees for those that are looking for a bump up in their chosen fields or for new HS graduates to get a good start in life.

Bachelor’s: A 4year degree can be achieved much sooner through online classes. It goes by how fast you can complete the courses not by when the courses are available therefor this is the perfect course for the busy working person looking to get that next promotion.

Master’s: Continuing Education to start at a high position in the company will assist with any career path and could be yours without unnecessary waiting.

MBA: Master’s of Business Administration are in high demand and are easily found in online education. If you are trying to be at the top of the applicants for having your dream job then this is the degree for you.

PhD: There are even PhD’s available online however they are limited to a select few areas and are only available from certain online universities.

If you are looking to get ahead at your job or would like to get a new and better job then you are probably busy with work and don’t have time to take classes at a College or University that only has a certain amount of class availability. Online courses can be your springboard into a great new position and can be achieved faster than normal due to the classes are done when you finish the courses required and therefor can be done in halve the time of normal. Best of luck and study hard. Many companies, like Direct TV HD, value well educated job candidates. Improve your chances of snagging your dream job and educated yourself.
